    New Moon
I thought Buffy was better, but if it's true that every generation needs its own vampy romance story, then Twilight isn't bad. ^w^ A couple questions though: Why is Bella some kind of monster magnet, and why is almost everybody in the theater text-messaging throughout the whole movie? ;-)

    RIP
Sorry to post a downer today, but one of my friends recently passed away due to cancer. Just a reminder life is a precious gift, not to be taken for granted, and we should remember to live every moment to its fullest. Thank you.

Oh boo-hoo poor me persecuted Polanski all upset because he finally got busted after running around scottfree for 30 years. :-b While the timing on extradition may be unusual,
we still have to prosecute him now that we got him. If there's no statute of limitations for this crime, it doesn't matter how long ago it was. All I have to say to his supporters & apologists is that if we had sex with French or Polish 13-year olds, I doubt they would be so lenient with us. -_-

I just realized something: The past tense of "tweet" is a bad word...

    Enough already!
I'm gonna be SO glad when this election is over & done with. ~_~ Please fast-forward me to Thursday so I no longer have to hear about Props. 8, 4, 2, McBama, whatever again! Just let me vote & not have to go through this again (at least until they hold a special election/recall in a couple months). ;-b

    Lost Wages
Back from my 1st time at Anime Vegas; it was fun, but smaller than the big Californian anime cons. Unfortunately, most of my friends couldn't come out this year. It was mostly a lot of teenagers doing the usual cosplay thing. They also had "rent-a-maid" which is a bit questionable, but I guess what happens in Vegas stays there... ^^'

I also took advantage of this opportunity to hit the Star Trek Experience for the last time as it will be shuttered forever. Ordered the infamous Warp Core Breach drink. ^_^ I normally don't drink such hard liquor & have been avoiding this one for years, but since this would be the last time, I decided what the hell. It was really strong as expected -- the room was spinning like a centrifuge, but I took it all & didn't even have to jettison anything. ;-)

All in all, the trip was good, though the drive back to LA was exhausting. I guess all these long distance roadtrips are wearing me down. Too bad we can't just have Scotty beam us over, but real life hasn't caught up to sci-fi yet. ;->

    iPwned!
As my Verizon Wireless contract is almost up, I got a new phone. Jumped on the Apple bandwagon (again). ;-) New # is (909) 895-9471. The old one will still work for a couple months, & then that will be it.

    Olympix
Wow, I can't believe we won medals in women's saber, much less swept all 3. We usually suck at fencing.

PS: Lightsaber fencing should be in the Olympics too! ;-D

    T-former news, sorta..
Shia LaBeouf is in a spot of trouble, had a DUI accident: http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/07/30/labeouf.dui.ap/index.html?iref=newssearch . See, next time he should let Bumblebee do the designated driving! ;->

    Earthquake
Woo! We just had a quake! Felt really strong, as I was close to the epicenter, but they said it was just 5.8. No major damage or injuries, just some lamps & things knocked over. For a sec, I was wondering if the Big One finally hit us... ^_^'

    Prisoner
Just got back from AX, thankfully nothing bad happened. Well, not to me anyway, dunno about other people. ^_^ Anyway, after years of procrastination, I finally finished my outfit from the old 60's show "The Prisoner."

Not very many folks still remember this show, but it was about a place called "the Village" in a hidden location where political prisoners were being held. Everybody there was abducted from their countries and brought here to be interrogated & brainwashed. They are stripped of their identities & assigned a number. They are also made to wear these ridiculous multi-colored capes (except the hero who refuses to conform) and happily go about doing pointless activities.

The black badge contrasts against the rest of the brightly-colored ensemble and is the only hint of something sinister in the background. It is emblazoned with the logo of the penny-farthing bicycle which symbolizes progress & technology, and how they can dehumanize us all if we're not careful.

The show is available on DVD & highly recommended for watching. Be seeing you! ^_@

    Anime Expletive
Heading off to AX now! Still have misgivings about the LA location, but nothing we can do about it. With luck my car won't get broken into again. ;-) It's gonna be a pain trying to get around with all the hotels so spread out. They say the area has be renovated so it's not so dodgey anymore, but I'll believe it when I see it. Guess all we can do is cross our fingers & hope nobody gets shot/mugged/raped/etc.! ^^'

    Iron Man
Just saw the Iron Man movie yesterday, as I used to read a little of the comic. It was much better than I thought, like T-formers + Robocop. ;-) At first I had reservations about the movie, as Tony Stark the main character was kinda boring. But I like the premise that he was just a normal person (or at least he was in the beginning, think he got some "upgrades" recently), that anybody, even you & me, could become a superhero with that suit. ^_^

In an aside, it's interesting that Leslie Bibb was in the film. She used to be in the TV show "Popular," and her character in that idolized & was constantly obsessing over Gwyneth Paltrow -- and now they got to work together! ;->

It's that time of year again: Happy Attacks Day! I hope you all filed on time and will get a nice refund. ;-)

    Power Sleep
Yesterday the electricity was out; I paid my power bill, Edison just shutdown my neighborhood for maintenance & upgrades. So no TV or computer, all I could do was catch up on sleep. But you know what? It was actually kinda beneficial & strangely liberating. ;-) I must've really needed the sleep and a break from news, LJ drama, etc. Maybe I'm not addicted to the gadgets as I didn't go apeshit from withdrawal. In fact, I could recommend this maybe 1 day a month. ^_^

Hmmm.. this is odd: Why is the Day Watch DVD slated for release in 2 days from now? I just bought it last week & am watching it now! @_@ Oh well, guess Bust Buy stocking made a mistake. Lucky I got to see it early. ;-D

An embarrassing mishmash of colors ^_^

A good brawl between the 2 NY teams, Islanders vs. Rangers. This is one of the most colorful hockey fights I've yet seen. ;-D
